Help information added about new policy changes

Notifications about recent policy changes have been added to your Benefit and Budgeting Calculator.

Help information has also been added giving details about transitional protection measures for people in receipt of Severe Disability Premium and people with savings of over £16,000 who have moved onto Universal Credit from tax credits.

Although the regulations for these policy changes won’t be enacted until the Autumn we've added the warnings now to help you support your customers ahead of time.
New integrated local advice tool from Lasa

From Monday 2 July we're integrating Advicelocal, a new tool from Lasa, into your Benefit and Budgeting Calculator. Using the built in postcode based tool advisors will be able to give customers local advice and support relating to seven areas of law - welfare benefits and tax credits; council tax; debt and money advice; housing and homelessness; employment and work issues; disability and social care; and asylum and immigration.
Children of people who are non-dependant

In rare circumstances non dependent people in a household may have children and this can affect the number of bedrooms allowed.

We have added the ability for you to include these circumstances in your calculations.You can now enter the number of additional bedrooms required in the non-dependant section. As always, full advice is given in the “?” hover tooltip.
Benefit and Budgeting Calculator and GDPR compliance

In accordance with the GDPR changes that came into effect in May we have boosted the security of your data in the Benefit and Budgeting Calculator.

Your login session will now last for 12 hours, after which you will be automatically logged out of the calculator. Click on Remember Me to stay logged in for 30 days. During a calculation, remember to click the Save case button regularly so the data you enter is stored and you can use it again.

We run free introductory training webinars for all our customers. Scheduled every few weeks and lasting 45 minutes, the online sessions go through the main features of the Benefit and Budgeting Calculator. Perfect for introducing new users or refreshing existing users.
